MATH - EYE MY MONSTER

A fun, hands-on math activity that turns early counting and addition into an exciting monster game! Children roll dice, write numbers and place googly eyes on monsters to build strong number sense and early addition concepts through interactive play.

• 2 Counting Monster Cards (A5 size)
• 2 Addition Monster Cards (A5 size)
• A Pair of Dice, Googly Eyes and a Dry-Erase Pen.
  

How to play:

• Counting Game:
  • The child rolls one dice and observes the number.
  • They write the number on the Counting Monster card.
  • The child then counts and places the same number of googly eyes on the monster.
  • They can also record the number using the table provided on the card.
• Addition Game:
  • The child rolls both dice together.
  • They identify and write each number in the given blocks on the Addition Monster card.
  • The child places the corresponding number of googly eyes on the monster.
  • They then count all the eyes and write the total to find the sum.
  • Encourage the child to say numbers aloud and use finger counting if needed.
    

Game Extensions:

• Create simple word problems using the monsters
• Timed addition challenges
• Reverse play: given total, find possible dice combinations
