SORTING MATS - KNOW YOUR FARM ANIMALS

Introduce children to common farm animals through a fun, hands-on sorting activity. Children learn to identify animals and group them based on simple categories, building early thinking, observation and vocabulary skills through play.

Age Group:

3 to 6 years

Pack Includes:

• 10 mats of various farm animals (A5 Size).
• Loose cards with images of characteristics including where they live, what they eat, their young one and what they give us, corresponding to each farm animal.

How to play:

• The child needs to identify and match each of the cards to the correct farm animal.
• For eg: Hen lives in a hen coop, eats grains, young one is a chick and gives us chicken.
  

Game Extensions:

• Discuss the animals, their sounds and their uses.
• Animal sound game – mimic and guess the animal.
• Big vs small animal sorting.
• What do we get from animals? (milk, wool, eggs).
• Odd one out- Place 4 cards and ask which one does not belong and why.
• Memory game – Show cards, hide them, and ask the child to recall.
  
• Match it activity - Pick 2 categories of cards and create a match-it activity.
