SORTING MATS - KNOW YOUR COMMUNITY HELPERS - 1

Through this interactive sorting activity, children learn to identify community helpers and match them to their workplaces or tools, while developing classification, observation and thinking skills through play.

Age Group:

3 to 6 years

Pack Includes:

• 6 mats of Community helpers, namely Teacher, Farmer, Doctor, Carpenter, Plumber, Baker (A5 Size).
• Loose images of the objects corresponding to each community helper.

How to play:

• Child needs to recognise each object and match it to the respective Community helper mat.

Game Extensions:

• Ask the child what tools each helper uses.
• Role play – “What does a doctor do?”
• Odd one out- Place 4 cards and ask which one belongs to a different Community helper.
• Memory game – Show cards, hide them, and ask the child to recall helpers.
